And then you really wonder that people are pissed and complain about it? I defended LOTUS for a very long time, but for me that ended now. nothing, no information just an absolutely nothing. (We will see in a couple months if they can or can't.)
It reaches from new features for the Cry Engine over new ways to Animate Faces (That has been adapted by the rest of the industrie already) over developing entire new backbone systems to actually make Star Citizen the game they promised it to be. And you can read it on the Star Citizen page and you can watch it on countless Videos. There is a lot of facts, Star Citizen is being developed, there is a lot of facts and almost everything is well documented. Yeah sorry, but it's way past opinions on the matter. If the exclusive titels for specific headsets or Headset Manufacturers becomes a trend then i wouldn't count on it getting far, as mentioned above already. On the consumer market i'm still not convinced. Where it certainly will stay: In commercial applications and industrial applications. And a lot of them are unlikely still in use do to old Age. But towards that also count things like GearVR. Including myself, i haven't touched my VR headset in forever.Īnd if we talk about the size of possible Customers that have a VR Headset: That is 26 Million People, which is a really small amount compared to the amount of Devices capable of driving VR Headsets. and how much they use it, or rather don't use it. And where is it now?Īnd when i think of the 5 or 6 People that i know that own a VR headset. And if you remmeber 3D TVs: That was hitting it off in the beginning as well. Unless of course your goal is it to make a VR game.īut again: On the current path it's gonna be dead. That's something one can think about once the Game is done, everything else is a waste of time. Especially if the Game is still in development or early access. Especially for a lot of smaller Developers and Projects it's absolute waste of time for the tiny little amount of people that would play the Game and actually do have VR. But it's still gonna be many years til the Market is actually big enough to matter to most Developers.
VR is still not huge, and motion consumer motion platforms are still far far away from common. So you have to decide: Do you want even shorter routes? Do you want less quality (or even less quality), or do you rather pay 30 bucks and get the length and quality we have right now? It was developed for many years.Īnd if the developers would have paid themselves a decent wage, the 30 Euro would never ever cut it.

They did that route mostly in their free time, and thousands of hours did go into it. That route would have to be way above 50 bucks for the developer of it to actually have decent salary. Take Konstanz - Villingen for TS for example. Most people seem to think "Oh my gosh it's 30 bucks for such a short route!" But that's actually not that much money if you consider how many man hours go into the development of one such route. I worked with people that did and do content for TS and TSW to give you a little bit of background.ģ0 bucks for one route is almost not enough money. I would like to pay but because of the exorbitant price we can't necessarily. Originally posted by clemphrd:It's not a question of not having to pay.
